Welcome to Gaia Acupuncture, a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice located in San Diego, California. Alexa Gonzalez, L.Ac. provides a holistic approach to healthcare and recovery through the use of acupuncture, herbs, and nutrition.
Alexa works alongside other healthcare practitioners who specialize in a wide variety of modalities, such as acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, reiki, healing touch, psychologist, skin care and quantum reflexology analysis.
Acupuncture is part of a medical system called Traditional Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine is rooted in ancient Taoist philosophy which views a person as an energy system in which body and mind are unified, each influencing and balancing the other. Chinese Medicine emphasizes a holistic approach that treats the whole person. Many people have found Traditional Chinese methods of healing to be excellent tools for healing disease, maintaining optimum health and preventing illness. It is effective for physical, psychological and emotional problems.

Alexa Gonzalez, L.Ac. MSTOM- is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist. She received her Master’s of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. Alexa is a native San Diegan and is fluent in Spanish and English.
While completing her four-year Master’s Degree program and internship at PCOM, she also did clinical extership at Rady’s Children’s Hospital, UCSD RIMAC Center and SD Downtown Free Senior clinic.
Alexa’s experience includes treating a variety of ailments from the flu, chronic or acute pains, emotional disorders (anxiety, stress, insomnia) to women’s health issues and side effect associated with cancer treatments, among others.
Her focus is in women’s health (PMS, infertility, pregnancy and menopause), Facial Rejuvenation, traumatology (pain management and sport Medicine), emotional disorders and cancer treatment side effects with the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, and other ancient modalities like cupping, gua sha and moxa.
Her acupuncture treatments are safe, gentle and best of all, effective in treating many common ailments. Alexa continue to pursue advanced training in Chinese medicine annually by attending various continuing education seminars and courses. Alexa has also had the privilege to volunteer with Global Acupuncture Project in Oaxaca as a trainer, by helping empower communities to strengthen their own wellbeing and hopes to continue to support the cause.
